The Youngling Part Two: Falling

Falling

Separated by worlds, Synesthesia and Seth fight their own battles — Syn lost in the Manheim after crossing through the seams, and Seth wandering a land where gods are silent and survival has teeth.
As both worlds begin to fracture, the shadow creature Garrity carries grows stronger, and every choice begins to pull the Midgarden and the Manheim closer to disaster.

The Falling follows two stories running side by side — one of a girl lost, one of a boy unravelling.

After the attack that tore her from the Midgarden, Synesthesia awakens in the Manheim: a stark, unfamiliar world with its own rules, dangers, and fractured boundaries. With no clear path home, she must navigate landscapes that feel wrong in ways she cannot name, and confront the growing consequences of the shadow creature she unknowingly released.

Across the divide, Seth struggles to survive in a world that barely remembers him. He walks through cities built on cruelty and faith gone sour; places where compassion is a luxury and strangers carry knives in their eyes. Haunted by gaps in memory and moments where the world feels thinner, he slowly realises that he has been crossing through the seams long before he knew they existed.

Meanwhile, Octavian — once a man of faith — begins to feel the first deep cracks in the doctrines that shaped him. His certainty wavers. His vows tremble. Something in the world no longer aligns with what he has been taught to believe.

And beneath it all, Garrity carries the infection of the shadow creature — a subtle rot spreading through both his mind and the world around him, setting events in motion that neither Syn nor Seth can yet comprehend.

The Falling is a story of survival, belief, and the slow, inevitable pull of two worlds drifting toward collision.
